Alfonso De Torres. Exposición. $el teSorO shOp*

Critic Harold Rosenberg in 1952: "At a certain moment the canvas began to appear as a arena in which to act, rather than as a space in which to reproduce, redesign, analyze or "express" an object, actual or imagined. What was to go on the canvas was not a picture but a event."

The evening was hot, it was more appealing to be outdoors than in any premises in town, but everything was ready for the opening. Paintings had been distributed on the walls by the artist, there were cold beers and gazpacho in the refrigerator, music sounded good, sun light was begining to fall down and guests were arriving. Garage was cozy and the color in Alfonso De Torres paintings was inviting to summer. The event had happened on the canvases in the painter's studio and moved to the garage. Everybody enjoyed a beautiful evening.

It is a pleasure to enjoy Alfonso De Torres paintings in the first exhibition we make in $el teSorO shOp*. We can still watch his paintings for a few more days. If you are interested in visiting the show, you are still on time, contact us through our e-mail zualoren@gmail.com or calling 649103834. By appointment only.

649103834. Solo se podrá visitar previa cita.

ANÉMONA. Gran Premio Histórico de Porto 2013

The Boavista Urban Circuit is one of the few urban circutis existing in Europe and one of the more veterans still working. It was open in 1931, consisting at that moment in two long straights going up and down Boavista Avenue, one of the main streets in Porto, each one two kilometers aproximately. In 1950 it was redesigned, until in the sixties the project stopped. Fortunately for the fans in 2005 the activity was restarted, changing again the layout. From that date motor races take place every two years: the World Touring Car Championship of FIA and the magnificent event we are talking about in this blog: the Porto Historic Grand Prix.

I had heard about it from some good friends that were in love with what they lived there in every edition, but my first contact was in 2011. That week, taking advantage of the local festivities (São João), a Flea Market took place in the city, and I was invited to make a dj session. I called David from El Solitario MC in case he felt like coming and spend the weekend together and this way know each other in person, since we just kept in touch through our blogs. In this way I met El Solitario and the Magníficos Canallas, but that is another story... In this present edition they couldn't be there because they had to manage an "initiation rite" with one of the youngest in the house, that I am sure he will remember his whole life. Who doesn't remember the first time driving a bike?

There is no better way to know what you can see in this circuit than some pics we shot during the event. We chose the stands "Anémona" (the name is after the beautiful sculpture by Janet Echelman just behind the stands) to enjoy the races.

Next will be in 2015, do not miss it and enjoy one of the most beautiful town in old Europe.
