Alberto García-Alix. Fotografías. Wheels & Waves 2013.

One of the best things that happened to me in this edition of Wheels & Waves was to know photographer Alberto García-Alix and his friends. Last sunday I recived a mail with these wonderful pictures, I asked him if I could share his file in my blog and he answered of course yes. Enjoy these beautiful images.
Thanks Alberto.

"more crowded, more violent, more gnarly, more beards, more dust, more babe-riders, more guns, more beer, more edgy, more glitter, more dangerous, more artists, more Max"

It all started about three years ago. In the mind of a group of friends was to make an international meeting to gather people with the same interest. Their idea was to bring together motorcycles and antique and custom cars, surf, rock&roll and art in the same event. They chose a château in Tolouse to make the first party, they called a select group of friends and they sketch out what now is for me the best motorcycle meeting at this side of the Ocean.

Few months later I was invited with a part of the group for a trip around Spain and Portugal in which I was lucky to know them and fix a good friendship with all the group.

Next year the first official Wheels & Waves would be held... Nothing to tell about that is not already told, good vibes, lots of good taste making acts, good spirit drinks from the always conciliator master chief Juan Ramón from Good For Retro & Classic Motorcycles, beautiful bikes and cars, surf, illegal races on the beach... This year W&W grew up amazingly, few months before BMW presented a video in the web in which they showed the new bike designed by Roland Sands for BMW, the RSD BMW
Concept 90, and in which you see clearly that big corporations have an eye on what's going on in the streets, and coolhunters are stalking for trends in the motorcycle world, small builders with big and risky ideas, that with their handwork are making History. In few years, when another show about bikes will be held, like the one in the Guggenheim few years ago, they and their machines will have something to say. This year edition, of which we are still recovering, was as great photographer and friend Kristina Fender says... "more crowded, more violent, more gnarly, more beards, more dust, more babe-riders, more guns, more beer, more edgy, more glitter, more dangerous, more artists, more Max".
For me, that I learned to ride a bicycle in return for they give me a motorcycle, that I ride a Triumph Daytona 500cc since I was 18 (almost 22 years on and under it), is a honor to be among them (playing my music, and showing my stuff), among the ones who write today the pages of a new way of living the motorcycle and in which I didn't feel portrayed before.

Long live Wheels & Waves and all us who make it possible.

I LOVE THIS GANG OF BIKERS!!!!
